Destiny of the Daleks

Suzanne Danielle and Her Career Objective

Taranium Core, Episode 11
Sunday 25 October 2026

It’s the last episode of our fifth season, which means that it’s time to say goodbye to Terry Nation, as the production team turns his final script for the programme into an achingly contemporary Disco Remix of the Dalek–Thal conflict which could only have happened in the last few moments of the 1970s.

500 Year Diary listener Jonathan (Jack) W. Kirk has created a brilliantly funny music video for Peter and Simon’s We Love Terry Nation song. Watch it immediately.

Rock Paper Scissors, or Scissors Paper Rock, or Scissors Paper Stone, or (exotically) Roshambo, is first attested in China in the seventeenth century, before spreading to Japan; it reached the West in the early twentieth century.

Peter interviewed Destiny of the Daleks director Ken Grieve in Doctor Who Magazine Issue 270, published in September 1998.

The Doctor Who Magazine Special Legends — Terry Nation was published in November 2025 and is still available in digital format from the magazine’s website.

Nathan praises Logopolis for a change in an episode of Luke Sims-Jenkins’s Fifth Doctor podcast The Maran Chess Club.

Flight Through Entirety discussed Destiny of the Daleks in Episode 62: Circuit Boards Glued to a Piece of Wood, released on Sunday 17 January 2016.
